We want you to think of the Ronald McDonald House as your home-away-from-home in every way possible. Here are procedures for checking in and checking out that should make it especially easy for you.
Checking In
- Check in is between 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day. Room assignment is determined by the date you were placed on the waiting list. Please call once per day to check on availability. When a room becomes available the manager on duty will call you
- When you arrive, we'll gather basic information from you for our records.
- A volunteer will let you know your room number and provide keys for your room. There is a $5.00 refundable deposit per key..
- Parking permits are available if you plan to park overnight in our lot.
- A volunteer will show you to your room and explain everything you'll need to know about our House and our policies.
As Our Guest
During your stay with us, we make cleaning supplies, vacuums and brooms available for your use. These are located in the pantry on your floor.
For your convenience, washers and dryers are located in the laundry room on each floor as well.
Rollaway beds, cribs, playpens, sleeping bags, and extra linens are available. If you need any of these extra items, just let the office know before 8:00 p.m.
Please feel free to use any food in the pantry and House refrigerators labeled "General Use." For any food that you'd like to bring into the House, simply mark your name and room number on the container.
We also have portable refrigerators available for storing medicine only.
Checking Out
Check out is between 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every day.
On the day that you are going to check out, we ask that you help us by doing the following:
- Fold all used bed linens, quilts, towels, and blankets then place them in the laundry basket in the closet. We'll take care of washing these.
- Replace the pillows on the bed.
- Vacuum the room and empty waste basket.
- Remove all of your own items from the refrigerator, freezer and locker.
Then, when you are ready to check out, inform the office staff and a volunteer will be happy to accompany you to check out your room.
Stop in the office when you are ready to leave to turn in your keys and parking permit. Your key deposit will be returned at this time.
If you wish to make a donation, may we suggest $10 per evening.
