Milwaukee Ronald McDonald House volunteers give their time and talents to provide a home-away-from-home for families with children receiving medical treatment.
House Volunteer Opportunities
Duties
House volunteers perform a variety of office and light housekeeping duties. Volunteers do not babysit or act as counselors or social workers.
Requirements
- Men or women 18 years or older
- In general good health
- Able to accept supervision
- Flexible and willing to perform all volunteer duties
- Dependable
- One-year commitment to a minimum of one three-hour shift every other week
Training
Applicants will be interviewed by the Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteer training takes place several times a year. Only trained volunteers will be assigned.
Shift Schedules
Shifts are scheduled from:
- 9 a.m. to noon
- Noon to 3 p.m.
- 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Hospitality
Hospitality is the Ronald McDonald House volunteer's main function. Making a difficult time in an unfamiliar place as normal as possible is the goal of the staff and volunteers. Our House is available to families 365 days a year.
