Pull together for the Ronald McDonald House.

As you continue on with your school/work year, we ask you to encourage your fellow students/co-workers to help the Ronald McDonald House in collecting pop tabs for our Pop Tab Collection Program. We continue to collect tabs year round and in May we hold a "Pop Tab Dump Day" at the House where we place a dumpster outside and everyone helps to fill the dumpster with tabs.

4 easy steps to collect Pop Tabs:
  1. Register your school/business/organization to receive email updates, family stories and information on "Pop Tab Dump Day" by emailing rmhad@execpc.com. Please include:
    • School/business/organization
    • Contact Name
    • Address
    • Phone #
    • Email Address

  2. Ask students/co-workers to save pop tabs from their aluminum beverage cans in a baggie or other small container. Click here to download Avery 5160 labels (30 to a page).

  3. Designate a large container in your school/office as the collection point. Click here to download Avery 5168 labels (4 to a page-postcard size).

Fun Pop Tab Facts!

What is a Pop Tab?
A pop tab is the piece of metal that opens aluminum cans. Like the can, the pop tab is recyclable. It is a small piece, yet a refundable piece.

Why Collect Pop Tabs?
All the collections add up to make a heartfelt impact in working together to provide a home-away-from-home for families during the medical treatment of their seriously ill children. Pop tabs are an easy way to recycle and help others and it is a task that people of all ages can do. These small pieces are a source of charitable revenue for the Ronald McDonald House. The amount of money received is determined by the weight of aluminum collected. Saving the tab is a simple and clean way of recycling for the House and it only takes a second. The dollars raised are used for operations and supplies for the Ronald McDonald House. Money received is not credited toward any medical treatment.

Facts
  • 1 pound = 1,267 tabs
  • 1 ton = 2,534,000 tabs
  • 1 yard = 36 tabs
  • 1,000,000 tabs = 16.75 miles

Pop Tab Containers
Due to the expense, the Ronald McDonald House no longer has pop tab boxes available for groups and organizations. We are asking everyone to collect their tabs in a baggie. Your group or organization can designate a large container as the collection point (large plastic garbage cans work well). Collection containers can also be made out of ice cream buckets, copy paper boxes or any other sturdy container... be creative! Please note that homemade containers will not be returned. We would be happy to supply you with small labels for the baggies and postcard size labels for your large collection container. You can download the labels and print them at home: Avery 5160 labels (30 to a page) or Avery 5168 labels (4 to a page-postcard size).

Posters
Hanging a poster in your school/business/organization can help to get people excited about collecting pop tabs for the House. Click here to download a Poster.
